Overview
PT-141 (bremelanotide) came out of Melanotan II research and targets sexual function specifically. Unlike PDE5 drugs that work on blood flow, it acts centrally on melanocortin receptors in the brain to increase sexual desire and arousal. It is FDA approved (as bremelanotide) for premenopausal women with hypoactive sexual desire disorder.
