Overview
BPC-157 is a "stable gastric pentadecapeptide" — a lab-made chain of fifteen amino acids derived from a naturally occurring body-protection compound isolated from the stomach lining. In animal research it has drawn attention for an unusually broad cytoprotective profile, appearing to help repair tendon, ligament, muscle and intestinal tissue while remaining stable in gastric acid. Human clinical data remain limited, so most of what is written about it comes from rodent studies.
How it’s thought to work
- Promotes new blood-vessel growth (angiogenesis), partly by up-regulating the VEGFR2 receptor pathway.
