Angiogenesis
Last updated
The growth of new blood vessels. Peptides like BPC-157 are studied partly because they appear to promote angiogenesis, which supports tissue repair by improving blood supply.
New vessel growth is central to how any healing tissue gets oxygen and nutrients, so a compound that supports angiogenesis is of interest for repair contexts. Much of the evidence for peptides here comes from animal or cell studies rather than controlled human trials. That research framing is worth keeping in mind, since a mechanism observed in a rat model does not automatically translate to a measured human outcome.
