The main structural protein in skin, tendon and connective tissue. Peptides such as GHK-Cu are studied for supporting collagen synthesis and remodeling.
Collagen turnover underlies much of the interest in skin and connective-tissue peptides, since supporting its synthesis and remodeling is the proposed route to firmer skin or faster tissue repair. GHK-Cu is the most-cited example, studied in both topical and injectable contexts. As always, laboratory or small-study signals are not the same as proven clinical outcomes, and the reconstitution steps are unchanged regardless of the target tissue.
