Cytoprotective
Last updated
Describes something that protects cells from damage. BPC-157 is often described as cytoprotective in animal studies.
The term simply means shielding cells from injury, and it appears often in descriptions of peptides studied in models of gut, tendon, or tissue damage. Most of that cytoprotective evidence comes from animal work, so it describes an observed effect in a controlled setting rather than a demonstrated human benefit. Keeping that research context in view helps separate mechanism from marketing.
