Vasodilation

Last updated

Widening of blood vessels, which increases blood flow. Some peptides influence vasodilation via the nitric-oxide pathway.

Vasodilation typically works through the nitric-oxide pathway, relaxing the smooth muscle in vessel walls so more blood flows through.
