Pituitary gland

Last updated

A small gland at the base of the brain that releases growth hormone and other hormones. GHRH and GHRP peptides work by signaling the pituitary.

The pituitary sits in a bony pocket called the sella turcica and takes cues from the hypothalamus above it. GHRH peptides nudge it to release growth hormone, while GHRPs act through a separate ghrelin-receptor pathway, which is why the two classes are sometimes discussed together for a combined signal. None of this alters dosing arithmetic, which still depends only on the peptide amount and diluent volume in the vial.
