Sterile water
Last updated
Preservative-free water for injection. Unlike bacteriostatic water it contains no benzyl alcohol, so a vial reconstituted with it is meant for single use rather than repeated draws over weeks.
Because it lacks benzyl alcohol, a vial reconstituted with sterile water offers no barrier to bacterial growth once the stopper is pierced, so it is best suited to single use or immediate handling. Bacteriostatic water is the usual choice for a multi-dose peptide vial meant to last weeks in the refrigerator. Either way the diluent volume is what sets concentration, so the calculator treats both the same.
