Certificate of Analysis (COA)

A lab report stating a peptide’s identity and purity, typically from HPLC and mass spectrometry. A legitimate COA ties to a specific batch. See our guide on how to read a COA.

A useful COA is batch-specific, so the identifier on the document should match the lot printed on the vial rather than being a generic marketing sheet. The two figures that carry the most weight are HPLC purity, which estimates how much of the sample is the intended peptide, and mass spectrometry, which confirms it is the right molecule. Neither number, however, verifies the milligram amount actually filled into the vial.
