Lyophilized
Also known as “freeze-dried”
Last updated
A peptide that has been freeze-dried into a stable powder for shipping and storage. It must be reconstituted with bacteriostatic water before it can be drawn and dosed.
Freeze-drying is what allows a peptide to ship and store as a stable solid, but it also means the powder must be dissolved before any dose can be measured, and the amount of water chosen at that step fixes the concentration for the life of the vial. A common early mistake is judging the dose by how the powder looks; the label's milligram figure, not the visible amount, drives the calculation.
