Glucagon

A hormone that raises blood sugar and increases energy expenditure. Newer triple agonists such as retatrutide add glucagon-receptor activity to GLP-1/GIP effects.

Glucagon receptor activity is the newest addition to this compound class, appearing in triple agonists that combine it with GLP-1 and GIP effects in one molecule. Because that means a single peptide rather than a mixture, reconstitution and dosing follow the same one-vial, one-concentration math as any other single compound, even though three receptor pathways are involved.
